CP Radhakrishnan vs BS Reddy: which party supports who in the Vice-Presidential race; know here

He is the candidate of the NDA and governor of the Maharashtra CP Radhakrishnan against the former Supreme Court supported by the opposition B Sudarshan Reddy during the vice-presidential election. The vote for the second highest constitutional post will take place on Tuesday 5 September and the result will also be declared tomorrow.

While Radhakrishnan benefits from the support of the BJP and its allies, Reddy has the support of the India block.

In the vice-presidential elections, deputies of the two houses vote via a “secret ballot” and a proportional representation system using the only transferable vote. The NDA has 425 deputies, while the opposition camp has the support of 324 at the electoral college of 781 deputies, which made the victory of Radhakrishnan. The majority brand is 391.
