Commanders’ Daniel Snyder tells NFL associate brokers ‘can’t fuck with me’ amid drama: report

Washington COs and team owner Daniel Snyder have come under fire in recent years amid allegations that the organization fostered a toxic work environment and questions about why the NFL hasn’t yet forced him to sell the team may have found an answer in a bombshell report on Thursday. .

The NFL fined the organization $10 million and co-CEO Tanya Snyder was asked to focus on team matters while Daniel Snyder was asked to focus on other issues after the result of last year’s survey of the organization. However, the report was never made public.

While Snyder’s seat remains hot, ESPN reported that the other 31 owners fear the commanders chief equally.

Snyder told a close associate he had enough information to « blow up » several other NFL owners, the league office and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and asserted « they can’t fuck with me, » ESPN reported.

The 57-year-old team owner reportedly told another confidant that « the NFL is a mafia » and that « all other owners hate each other ». To which another unnamed team owner told ESPN was untrue and « all owners hate Dan. »

Fear of reprisal is one of the underlying themes of the report. ESPN reported that the NFL is aware of claims that Snyder used private investigators to dig up « dirt » on other team owners, including Dallas Cowboys icon Jerry Jones. One NFL executive even described Snyder as « the most powerful owner in the NFL » because of all the information he might know, according to the report.

To force Snyder out, at least 24 owners must vote for him. Snyder has been described as « paranoid » fearful that his colleagues will seek him out.

Snyder’s lawyers John Brownlee and Stuart Nash, partners at Holland & Knight, and a spokesman for the commanders vehemently denied the report’s claims.

« It’s categorically untrue, » Brownlee and Nash told ESPN of the filing’s claims. « He has no ‘records’ compiled on the owners. »

The lawyers added: « We also understand that some people believe their own interests will be furthered by convincing news outlets like ESPN to print false information about the Snyders and the Joneses. »

On the suggestion that NFL owners hate each other, a spokesperson for Commanders told ESPN, « Owners have a shared love of the game, a mutual respect for each other and our organizations, and a strong working relationship. »

Additionally, a spokesperson for the Commanders pushed back against ESPN’s reporting in a statement to Fox News Digital.

« It’s hard to imagine an article that is more categorically untrue and clearly part of a well-funded two-year disinformation campaign to coerce the sale of the team, which will continue to fail, » the doorman said. -word of the Commanders.

While Snyder and Jones’ relationship also appeared to be a sticking point in the report, the two posed together for a photo op at AT&T Stadium when the Commanders and Cowboys faced off earlier this month.

The issues surrounding Snyder and the commanders went all the way to DC and were submitted to the House Oversight and Reform Committee. The lawmakers’ investigation found Snyder played a significant role in promoting a toxic work environment and uncovered evidence suggesting Snyder obstructed the NFL’s independent investigation into those allegations.

DEMOCRATIC CHAMBER OVERSIGHT WASHINGTON COMMANDERS INVESTIGATION FACES ETHICS COMPLAINT

Congress began investigating the team in October 2021 when allegations of sexual harassment and workplace misconduct were raised after then-Raiders head coach Jon Gruden resigned as a result. of leaked emails with then-team commanders president Bruce Allen. Allen was fired in December 2019 after 10 years with the franchise, he held various management positions.

Last week, Snyder’s attorneys wrote a scathing letter to House Oversight and Reform Committee Chair Carolyn Maloney, DN.Y. The letter called the investigation « a politically inspired ax job. »

« The investigation into Washington’s commanders was not fair, thorough, or bipartisan, and it certainly did not seek the truth. From the start, the Committee set out for one purpose – to destroy Dan Snyder and his family and attempt, with deceit, innuendo and half-truths, to oust him from the National Football League, » former Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., partner at Holland & Knight, wrote in the letter.
