Chris Rock Jokes With ‘Suge Smith’ Hit Him Hours After Will Smith’s Public Apology

Chris Rock has a new nickname for Will Smith, and it’s in reference to the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records.

According to multiple reports, Rock took the stage Friday night at the Fox Theater in Atlanta as part of his « Ego Death World Tour » and addressed the « King Richard » star as « Suge Smith, » in reference to Marion « Suge » Knight, who was known for his tough and often violent behavior when he ran the label behind Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac.

While Rock didn’t directly address Smith’s public apology video, the comedian wanted to make it clear he doesn’t see himself as a victim after Smith’s infamous Oscar slap was heard and seen around the world. .

« Everyone is trying to be a fucking victim, » he said. “If everyone pretends to be a victim, then no one will hear from the real victims. Even me getting hit by Suge Smith…I went to work the next day. I have children.

He added: « Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face. »

The comments came hours after Smith shared a deeply personal video message on social media on Friday in which he apologized to Rock and the comedian’s family, as well as his own family and friends. The Oscar-winning actor also revealed that he reached out to Rock, but was told the comedian wasn’t ready to talk and that Rock would when he was ready.

« It’s all a blur, » Smith said of that night. « I’ll tell you, Chris, I apologize. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.

This isn’t the first time Rock has taken on Smith while doing stand-up. During an appearance on « The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, » Hart revealed that the goat’s appearance turned crappy when the goat pooped on Rock’s white moon boots.

« The goat took some ass on stage, » Hart said. « That wasn’t planned either. It was the only thing I didn’t think of. I said, ‘The goat is going to come out and do two tight minutes’, but instead he shit on Chris’s shoes. He destroyed Chris’s shoes. He had white moon boots, and that goat got it.
