An engaged couple in England had the adventure of a lifetime when Chris Martin performed his first dance song for them.
Bride and groom Hannah and Jeremy had a planned catering meeting at the Stag Inn pub in Hinton Charterhouse, where the Coldplay frontman enjoyed drinks with his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, on Sunday.
Business owner Chris Parkin said he made an effort to visit Martin, 45, to introduce his 13-year-old son Alfred – a keen pianist – which sparked a conversation about marriage, according to Newsflare.
“Jeremy and Hannah told her about their wedding – and said their first dance was actually going to be ‘A Sky Full of Stars,'” Parkin said, prompting the singer to ask the couple, “Will you that I play for you?”
“We were all amazed!” Parkin said. “Then he just sat down and started playing. He was absolutely adorable.
In a clip of the impromptu performance, Martin is seen casually dressed in a long-sleeved black shirt, trousers and trainers after performing at the Glastonbury Festival.
He sits in front of a wooden piano with his Guinness beer behind him and chats with the couple, again asking their names and wedding date.
The Grammy winner then begins performing “A Sky Full of Stars” for the pair.
Parkin said Martin – who was married to Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2016 – offered marriage advice.
“Make sure you listen to his mate,” the “Fix You” singer said, according to Newsflare.
“We laughed and joked,” Parkin added. “Chris said he would like to stay and have another drink, but they had to go, so they went!”
The owner said everyone was “so in the moment” and Martin “made it so easy by being such a great guy”.
He concluded: “I think Chris Martin is a star – it’s probably because we left him alone and he wanted to say thank you. What a day!”
