BEIJING — China will release 14,400 tons of frozen pork from its state reserves on Sept. 23, according to a notice from the reserve management center on Wednesday.

Beijing said it would release pork ahead of the upcoming National Day holiday in October to keep prices of the country’s favorite meat stable during a period of high demand. (Reporting by Dominique Patton; editing by Christian Schmollinger)
