Child taken to trauma center with serious injuries after Brampton – Toronto crash


A child was taken to a trauma center with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Brampton on Tuesday morning, police say.

Peel Regional Police said emergency crews were called to the Richvale Drive and Sandalwood Parkway East area around 8.30am.

Police say there was a crash between two vehicles and one of the vehicles left the roadway, hitting a girl who was on the sidewalk.

A streetlight was also reportedly hit.

The exact age of the victim is not known, but police say she was under 12.

No one else was taken to hospital.

Both drivers remained at the scene, police said.

It is not clear if the child was alone at the time of the collision.

His parents have been notified, police said.
