Canada’s Auger-Aliassime beats Evans to reach European Open semis

Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal advanced to the semi-finals of the European Open ATP 250 after beating Dan Evans of Great Britain in a grueling match on Friday that lasted two hours and 41 minutes.
Auger-Aliassime lost the first set 6-4, then bounced back with a 7-6(4), 6-2 win to win the match in Antwerp, Belgium.
The Canadian will face Frenchman Richard Gasquet in a semi-final on Saturday morning. Austrian Dominic Thiem will face American Sebastian Korda in the other semi-final.
Against Evans, Auger-Aliassime had nine aces, earned 33 receiving points and had only one double fault.
