Cambridge woman faces additional charges in child pornography investigation

A 39-year-old Cambridge woman faces additional charges in connection with a child pornography investigation by regional and provincial police.
The woman was first arrested Oct. 12 as part of a provincial child sexual exploitation investigation called Project Maverick, and has been charged with multiple child pornography offences.
Police said she was released and re-arrested on Wednesday. She faces additional charges of sexual assault and child pornography.
The Maverick Project investigation also saw the arrest of two Cambridge men, a Kitchener man, a Guelph man and a United Kingdom (UK) man.
Police said four children had been rescued from sexual exploitation in Waterloo Region and the UK as a result of the investigation. Two of the children are from Cambridge and two from the UK, according to police.
Police said in an email to CBC News that the Cambridge woman and British man no longer had access to the children.
Police said the woman was being held for a bail hearing.
