Simmons continued, « For the first time in over a decade, you know, at 13, almost 14, she’s able to say, ‘This is how I feel. That’s how I felt when it happened. And it wasn’t right, and it hurts.
The human rights activist insisted she thought it was Spears who was trying to remind people that it was okay to talk about things like this and speak for yourself.
Simmons said if Spears wasn’t able to say certain things before, but now she is: « It’s my personal feeling and it always has been, that Britney was silenced during the conservatorship, that she had very specific things she was allowed to talk about and other things she couldn’t talk about, one of them being guardianship.
