Bret Michaels provides update on his health after hospitalization

Poison rocker Bret Michaels has apologized to his fans after canceling a performance in Nashville due to an « unforeseen medical complication ».
Hours after his hospitalization was announced on Friday, the 59-year-old singer took to Instagram to thank his followers for their « well wishes. »
Michaels wrote, “I was really excited to get on stage in Music City and perform, but due to an unknown complication and hospitalization, it wasn’t possible.
« My sincerest apologies for not being able to rock the stage tonight!!! » He continued. « I’m working to be back 100% very soon and I hope you rocked well with my friends Motley [Crüe]/[Def] Leppard/Jeanne [Jett & The Blackhearts] and Classless Act!!!”
Michaels did not say if he or his band would perform at their scheduled concerts in Florida on Saturday and Mississippi on Sunday.

On Friday, members of the « Every Rose Has Its Thorn » singer’s band Poison informed viewers of his hospitalization ahead of their show.
“Came from KC to watch poison,” one fan tweeted. “Bret Michaels was hospitalized. No poison in Nashville.
Another added, « Bret you and Poison owe a free concert in Nashville! »

One contestant’s parent took to Twitter, writing: ‘My son is in Nashville to finally see the great 80s rock line-up with Motley Crue, Poison, Joan Jett and Def Leppard. He waited so long. They had a storm spill on them, a lightning delay, and Poison just canceled. They say Bret Michaels is hospitalized.
While TMZ reported that the musician had a « bad reaction to medication, » his reps have yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Michaels, who has type 1 diabetes, has had health issues in the past, from his emergency appendectomy in 2010 to his hospitalization in 2014 for kidney surgery.
