BJP veteran chief Vijay Kumar Malhotra died at 93; PM Modi, the Union ministers offer condolences

Vijay Kumar Malhotra, the veteran leader of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party died at the age of 94 on the morning of Tuesday, September 30.

Malhotra would have been sick and were treated in Aiims Delhi, in accordance with the PTI news agency.

“Shri Vijay Kumar Malhotra Ji, a senior 93 -year -old BJP official, was admitted to the AIMS New Delhi, where he died on the morning of September 30, 2025,” Aimims said in a statement.

Delhi chief of the BJP, will saw Sachdeva, confirmed the death of the chief in a statement, saying: “With a deep sadness, we must inform that the senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata party and the first president of Delhi Bjp, Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, died this morning.”

“His life has always been and will continue to be an inspiration for all BJP workers,” he said, adding that Malhotra’s life was an example of simplicity and devoted himself to the service of the public.

Malhotra served five mandates as a deputy and two mandates as a deputy for Delhi, and held an important position in the party. He also defeated former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Lok Sabha elections held in 1999 in the southern Delhi district.

His fatal remains were brought back to his Aimims residence.

PM Modi, other ministers offer condolences

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other party leaders presented condolences on the death of the chief.

“Shri Vijay Kumar Malhotra Ji distinguished himself as an exceptional leader, who had a very good understanding of people’s problems. He played a vital role in strengthening our party in Delhi,” Prime Minister Modi said in a press release (formerly Twitter).

“We also remember his parliamentary interventions. Pouxed by his death. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” he added.

The Minister of Defense, Rajnath Singh, said: “In the history of Jana Sangh and the BJP, pillars like Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra have a special place. He assiduously worked to strengthen our party in Delhi. Largely respected for his knowledge of the Indian Constitution, he was a seasoned parliamentarian who worked without OM.

In the meantime. The national president of the BJP, JP Nadda, and the chief minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, arrived at the residence of Malhotra to pay tribute and meet the family.
