Friday, September 12, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) suspended the former minister of Odisha and senior Prafulla Kumar Mallik responsible for his presumed involvement in anti-party activities.
The party’s action one day came after Mallik, considered a confidant close to the president of the BJD, Naveen Patnaik, said that he could leave the regional outfit if it does not work properly.
The vice-president of the BJD (headquarters) Pratap Jena, in an order, said: “Sri Prafulla Kumar Mallik, ex-Mla Kamakhyanagar, District-Dhenkanal, is suspended from Biju Janata Dal for his anti-party activities with immediate effect.”
