The election of the Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, the electoral commission announced on Monday, October 6. The result will be announced on November 14.

The mandate of the State Assembly of 243 members ended on November 22.

More than 7.4 crores of people will exercise their franchise, including 14 voters for the first time, announced Gyanesh Kumar, chief elections commissioner (CEC). “There is a total of 7.42 voters grows in Bihar, 3.92 of whom are men and 3.5 crores are women. There are 14 lakh voters for the first time and 4 voters for elderly people Lakh,” Kumar said.

The CEC said that the Bihar elections will be conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner.

The surveys of the 2020 assembly in the state were held in three phases in the shade of the Pandemic COVID-19. The NDA led by the BJP won 123 seats and the Mahagathbandhan won 114 seats in the closely combated competition.

This time too, the state would witness a bitter fight between the two main alliances.

More than 500 companies from the central armed police (CAPF), including more than 5,000 people, will be deployed for the Bihar elections. Among these, 121 companies are from the central reserve police force (CRPF) and approximately 400 of the border security force (BSF), as well as contingents of other CAPFs, ani cited sources.
