President Joe Biden is facing backlash for a tweet posted to his Twitter account that blamed Republicans for the country’s economic woes.
“Republicans are doing nothing but obstructing our efforts to quell rising gas prices, falling food prices, falling health care costs and hopefully soon, cutting the costs of your prescription drugs. That’s not fair. And that’s why this election is going to be so important, » Biden tweeted Sunday.

Biden has come under fire online for his comments. Scott Jennings, a CNN contributor and former Bush White House student, tweeted, « 88% bad lead + 38% job approval = good luck with that BS. »
« Americans know the TRUTH Big Guy. No one is buying your blame game. YOU and the Democrats OWN INFLATION. Your policies make it MUCH WORSE, » tweeted conservative political writer Kimberly Morin.
Others, like author Matthew Betley, attacked the tweet while acknowledging that it was probably not sent directly by the president himself. “You are corrupt and intentionally sabotaging America…intern,” he wrote.
« Huh? I thought it was Russia’s fault, » joked Mark Zinno, a radio host.
DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw also said, « I thought it was Putin’s price spike. »
Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., tweeted, « Joe Biden thinks the American people are stupid. »
When running for president, Biden struck a very different tone. « It’s hard to believe it has to be said, but unlike this president, I will do my job and take responsibility. I won’t blame others. And I’ll never forget that the job is not about about me – it’s about you, » he tweeted on June 4, 2020.

Scott Presler, a conservative activist, criticized Biden for his policies. « @JoeBiden On day one you canceled our pipeline. You fired workers with your illegal and unconstitutional vaccine mandate. We have fewer healthcare workers because you forced them to choose between their job and a medical procedure mandatory. You gave 54 billion dollars to Ukraine, but forgot about us, » he wrote.
