Berlin push for Nord Stream 2 contributed to war in Ukraine, says German minister – POLITICO
BERLIN — German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann has acknowledged that Germany bears responsibility for Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine because it supported the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The statement goes indirectly against Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who has long championed the pipeline. As recently as December last year, Scholz called Nord Stream 2 a « private sector project ».
Buschmann hosted a joint meeting of G7 justice ministers in Berlin on Tuesday. They decided that the judicial authorities of the G7 countries should cooperate more closely in the investigation of Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
