According to the Daily Faceoff media outlet, Farrell is one of 13 National Hockey League (NHL) prospects to be selected for the United States national team.

After dominating the United States Hockey League (USHL) last year with 101 points in 53 games, the 2020 fourth-round pick has kicked off his college career with flying colors this season.

With Harvard University, he scored eight goals and amassed 19 points in 13 games, placing him second on his team.

Other selected players of note include first-round picks Jake Sanderson (Ottawa Senators), Matthew Beniers (Seattle Kraken) and Brendan Brisson (Vegas Golden Knights).

The former Habs Kenny Agostino, who plays today with the Torpedo of Nizhny Novgorod in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) would also have been called up for the Beijing Games.
