The Ottawa Senators recalled defenseman Jacob Larsson from the minors on Sunday, suggesting a likely absence for Quebecer Thomas Chabot.

Chabot took a hard hit near the boards on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers. After a few grimaces, he left the match and never returned afterward. His Senators still won 4-1.

The 25-year-old guard has three goals and six points in 14 games this season, posting a -4 differential. He played 25 min 45 s on average per game.

Larsson, meanwhile, joined the organization through the free agent market this summer. He was limited to two assists in 12 games with the Belleville Senators, but has plenty of National League experience with three goals and 24 points in 165 games for the Anaheim Ducks.

The Senators are scheduled to host the New York Islanders on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
