Atlantic City Casino Workers and MGM Reach Labor Deal

Atlantic City, NJ, unionized casino workers have reached a tentative agreement with MGM Resorts International to avoid a July 4 weekend strike at the company’s Borgata casino, according to the union and the company.

Organizers from the Unite Here Local 54 union, who have been demanding pay rises, said contract talks were continuing with Caesars Entertainment Inc. which owns Caesars, Harrah’s and the Tropicana in Atlantic City. A strike at these properties could begin as early as Friday without an agreement.
