Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo kiss in ‘wicked’ behind-the-scenes footage

The story can be Nasty, but this friendship looks as good as it gets! Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, stars of the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway classic, Nastyshare a look at their behind-the-scenes camaraderie.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Grande posted a photo carousel and included a black-and-white photo of her laughing with Erivo at what appears to be a table read for the film. The co-stars seem quite close as Grande covers her face with paper and Erivo gives her a warm look. Confirming the moment, Erivo commented on the post, saying, “Love you Xx.”

For her part, Erivo shared her own BTS footage from the production and included a video of her and Grande kissing. The two stars are wearing masks for covid protection in the pictures, and after a gentle embrace, they held hands and talked.

The highly anticipated movie « Wicked » will star Grande as Glinda the Good Witch, a role made famous by Kristin Chenoweth on Broadway. Erivo, a Tony Award-winning performer, voices the character of Elphaba, who was originally played by Idina Menzel.

“Wicked” is about how a green-skinned woman mentored by the Wizard of Oz becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. The stars were cast in production in November 2021.

In February, Erivo attended the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards and gushed to ET on the red carpet to get down to business with the « Thank U, Next » singer.

« I can tell you Ariana is wonderful. We’re both really starting to find our feet and finding our relationship and really enjoying each other’s time and space and conversations, » Erivo told about Grande: « She’s the nicest person. »
