Anthropic to open the First India Office in 2026

Anthropic said on Wednesday that he planned to open his first office in India, entering a market where the use of artificial intelligence is increasing and its Rival Openai is already making progress.

THE Amazon-The AI ​​-supported company, worth $ 183 billion, said it planned to open an office in Bengaluru at the start of 2026. It will be the company’s second office in Asia after Tokyo, Japan.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, visit India this week to meet civil servants and business partners, said the company.

The adoption of AI among consumers and businesses should accelerate rapidly in India. According to Boston Consulting Group, more than 90% of county workers already use AI.

“India is convincing due to the scale of its technical talent and the Indian government’s commitment to ensure that the advantages of artificial intelligence reach all areas of society, not just concentrated pockets,” Amodei said in a press release.

Anthropic said that its objective in India would deploy AI for “social impact” in sectors such as education and health care, as well as “supporting key industries through strategic partnerships”.

Claude is the key product of Anthropic and Challenger in Openai. Anthropic said he would launch “improved performance” in Hindi for Claude, as well as nearly a dozen other languages ​​spoken in India. Anthropic said India is currently ranking second in terms of use of Claude, behind the United States

The expansion of the company in India is involved while Rival Openai has increased its thrust in the country this year. OPENAI launched a low -cost subscription plan for its flagship Chatgpt product and also plans to open an office in the country.

Anthropic, however, has a catch -up to be done. Claude was downloaded 118,000 times in August in India, against 10.3 million Chatgpt downloads and 6.4 million perplexity, according to the Appfigures analysis company.

Push India is part of a larger global expansion plan for Anthropic because it increases its international workforce and seeks to integrate more business customers.
