Tech Behemoth IBM partners with AI Research Lab Anthropic to introduce AI into its software.
IBM, based in Armonk, New York, announced on Tuesday that it will add Anthropic’s family of large language models into some of its software products. The first product to hit Claude will be IBM’s Integrated Development Environment, which is already available to a select group of customers.
IBM also announced that it has created a guide in partnership with Anthropic on how companies can build, deploy and maintain enterprise-grade AI agents.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. TechCrunch has reached out to IBM for more information on the future of the partnership.
Anthropic has made a big splash in the enterprise sector since releasing Claude Enterprise in September 2024.
The company also announced a deal to bring Claude to consulting giant Deloitte’s nearly 500,000-person global workforce on Monday. Anthropic said this would be the company’s largest deployment to date.
A July study by Menlo Ventures found that companies prefer Claude models over all other AI models, including OpenAI. The study found that businesses’ use of Openai’s models has been declining since 2023.
