A Nice biennial on the theme of “Flowers! »

“Flowers! », the 5^e Biennale des arts de Nice, unfolds in the 11 municipal museums until the end of the year.

At the Archeology Museum, which houses the collections of the Natural History Museum, visitors will appreciate the exceptional biodiversity of the region: more than 3,000 plant species.

At the Masséna Museum, Jean-Jacques Aillagon shows how much this wealth contributed to the tourist attractiveness of Nice in the 19th century.^e century. Paintings, posters, photos and a fine collection of decorative arts also tell of the blossoming of gardens in the city, of exuberant ceramics, the colorful fabrics of Raoul Dufy, without forgetting the carnival and its battles of roses.

At 109 and La Station, more unbridled but sensitive, nearly 80 contemporary artists take a political, feminist, ecological or philosophical look at flowers and pollination at the time of the Anthropocene.
