An uninvited Kanye West and his team are escorted out of Skechers HQ by executives

LOS ANGELES — Kanye West and his team showed up at Skechers headquarters in Manhattan Beach on Wednesday without an invitation, and the shoe company certainly didn’t have him.

« Kanye West – also known as Ye – arrived unannounced and uninvited at one of Skechers’ offices in Los Angeles, » the company said in a statement. « Since Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his crew out of the building after a brief conversation. »

Skechers said he had « no intentions » of working with the rapper-designer-entrepreneur, who has found himself on thin ice commercially and socially lately following a litany of conspiratorial and anti-Semitic public comments.

In addition to his recent remarks, West also suggested in 2018 that slavery was a choice, called the COVID-19 vaccine a « mark of the beast » in mid-2020, and wore a « White Lives Matter » t-shirt. alongside conservative commentator Candace. Owens at his Yeezy collection show in Paris earlier this month.

« We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not condone anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech, » Skechers’ statement continued, adding – just in case anyone was unclear – that « The company would like to point out again that West showed up unannounced and uninvited at the Skechers offices.

Ye’s appearance at Skechers headquarters may have been prompted by Adidas’ decision on Tuesday to cut ties with the rapper and halt production of his Yeezy shoes.

The move came after what Adidas called a « thorough review » of their relationship. The sports equipment company expects a loss of approximately $246 million in net income due to the end of the partnership.

West was recently dumped by a myriad of companies – including high fashion house Balenciaga and talent agency CAA – and has been suspended on Twitter and Instagram since posting his latest round of offensive comments.
