An octogenarian pedestrian fatally hit by a car in Victoriaville

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — A woman has died after being hit by a vehicle on Bois-Francs Boulevard in Victoriaville. The pedestrian would have tried to cross the lane at an unmarked place, according to information obtained by the Sûreté du Québec.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident around 6:30 p.m. Monday evening. According to the SQ, a driver in her thirties was traveling in the right lane heading north when she hit the pedestrian near the intersection with rue Bécotte.

The victim, an octogenarian woman, was rushed to the hospital center, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead.

In the case of the driver, she was evaluated on the spot by the ambulance services for a nervous shock.

The road was closed to traffic to allow a collision investigation specialist to analyze the scene.
