Amit Shah says former vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar to explicit resignation letter

Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday, August 25, said that former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned due to health issues and is explicit, adding that the matter should not be stretched as there is no conspiracy in the matter.

“Dhankhar Sahab’s resignation letter is explicit. He resigned citing his health issues, and he also thanked the ministers, the prime minister and all his core members for his good tenure,” Shah said in an interview with news agency ANI on August 25.

When asked if the government pressurized Dhankhar to resign, the home minister refuted the allegations.

Former Vice President Dhankhar resigned late evening on July 21, the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament. He cited prioritizing his health over medical advice as the reason for his resignation.

The opposition questioned the timing of the resignation, saying the former vice president did not look unhealthy during the session and claimed there was a conspiracy behind his actions with him being forced by the government to offer his resignation.

The Opposition had said that Dhankhar wanted to begin the process of impeachment of Allahabad High Court judge Yashwant Varma in the Rajya Sabha.

When asked where Dhankhar was right now – if he was in force – and his alleged “coup” attempt, Shah denied the claims, saying: “No, there is no such thing.”Baat Ka Batangad nhi banana chahiye’ (We shouldn’t make a fuss about this). “

“Dhankhar Ji was on a constitutional post and during his tenure he did a good job as per the Constitution. He resigned due to his personal health problem. One should not try to stretch the issue too much and find something,” Shah added.

New VP candidate by NDA

After being asked that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) chose CP Radhakrishnan as its vice-presidential candidate because the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to win in the Tamil Nadu elections planned for 2026, Shah said, “it is not like that… such questions would be raised as to which candidate is chosen from”. “

“It is natural that the vice-presidential candidate comes from the south because the president was from the east, the prime minister was from the west and the north,” he added.

“He should not be seen in this view. CP Radhakrishnan has had a very long political career. He has been a member of Parliament twice, president of our party, governor of Jharkhand, Telangana, Puducherry, Maharashtra. And he holds a mature background in politics,” Shah said.

Shah rubbished Radhakrishnan’s story of being connected with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) saying, “The Prime Minister has a connection with RSS, I also have a connection with RSS. Has the country chosen us because we are from RSS? RSS.”

Shah questions India Alliance VP candidate

Shah said the left-wing ideology of former opposition vice president, former Supreme Court judge Sudershan Reddy, could have been the reason for India’s alliance to choose him as its candidate.

“It is a Supreme Court case that it dismissed Salwa Judum and ended the right of self-defense of the tribes. Due to this, Naxalism lasted for more than two decades in this country. At that time, Naxalism was breathing its last,” Shah said.

“The tribes formed Salwa Judum to protect themselves. The Supreme Court rejected it. After that, the schools which were destroyed due to Naxalites, CRPF and security forces were present in these schools. They threw everyone out in the night by issuing an order. There were attacks on security forces at many places. Rahul Gandhi should respond to these two judgments more than Sudershan Reddy,” Shah said.
