Amber Heard Files $10 Million Defamation Lawsuit Against Johnny Depp

Amber Heard has appealed a jury verdict ordering her to pay Johnny Depp $10 million in damages in his defamation case against her, court records show.
Lawyers for Heard, 36, filed the « Notice of Intent to Appeal » Thursday in Fairfax County, Va., records show.
A Fairfax, Va. jury sided with the 59-year-old ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor last month, finding his ex-wife defamed him in a Washington Post op-ed of 2018 on being a victim of domestic violence.
The ‘Aquaman’ actress won a $2 million jury verdict against Depp over one of his allegations that he defamed her.
Heard’s appeal comes after a judge denied her bid for a new trial on several grounds, including a juror snafu that she says hurt the outcome of the case.
“The jury listened to the extensive evidence presented during the six-week trial and reached a clear and unanimous verdict that the defendant herself repeatedly defamed Mr. Depp,” a spokesperson said Thursday. of the actor in a press release.
