Amal Clooney reveals her 5-year-old son drew a picture of prison and said ‘Putin should be there’

It seems the Clooneys either have a budding artist or a politician in the family. Or maybe both.

Appearing alongside Michelle Obama and Melinda French Gates at a panel in New York on Tuesday, the human rights lawyer revealed how much her 5-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, inspire her work.

The 44-year-old admitted that while her children, whom she shares with husband George Clooney, 61, aren’t « fully up to date with the news », her son often takes notes on what’s going on. she does at work.

Amal, who has credited her children as the ‘real driving force’ of her work with the Clooney Foundation for Justice, says it’s only a matter of time before her kids start to understand what’s going on in politics.

« I think in a few years, when they’re over 5, they’ll start learning about some of these issues that we’re talking about and what’s going on in the world, » she continued.

“You know when they ask us, ‘What did you do about it? What did you say about this? I’ve thought about my answer, and I hope it’s the right one.

The Clooneys, who married in September 2014, welcomed their twins in June 2017.

The couple often share anecdotes about their children, with George recently revealing the « terrible mistake » he and Amal made teaching them Italian.
