Altercation and gunshots during the night in Montreal: the SPVM is investigating

MONTREAL — The police are once again investigating shots fired in Montreal, this time in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough before the bars closed.
It was a call to 911 around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning that led the police to St-Hubert Street, near Beaubien Street East, where an altercation first took place outside.
“According to the first information obtained, it could be about an altercation which took place outside. At some point, a suspect would have fired at least one shot,” said agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The suspect fled before police arrived.
« So far, no injuries have been located or have come forward, » said Constable Comtois.
The crime scene was protected to allow SPVM investigators to analyze it.
“A dog handler was also requested for assistance in carrying out searches,” said the SPVM spokesperson.
The investigation is continuing.
