The MP tendered his resignation earlier this week.

The CCP issued its apology on Twitter after appealing to members of its constituency to call for its resignation, in « an automated text message ».

Alain Rayes, who now sits as an independent, took note of the party’s apologies on Wednesday evening, specifying that they were never directed directly at him.

“I let the population judge the message published. For my part, I am happy that this chapter is finally behind me […]“, he wrote on Twitter, Thursday.

In his statement, the MP denounces the intimidation he has suffered, adding that he will never hesitate to denounce it vehemently.

“Together, we will succeed in bringing a healthy political and social climate back to our beautiful country. It is my dearest wish,” he concluded.
