The protesting students gathered near Dak bungalow crossing in Patna and raised slogans against the government. They also breached the security barricades following which the Bihar Police started charging at them, news agency PTI reported.
“Protesters gathered at Dak Bungalow crossing in large numbers and disrupted vehicular movements.
“We asked them to leave the area as it had caused a massive traffic jam. As they refused to heed the call, the police resorted to Baton-Charge to disperse them,” he added.

Sharma further said, “People are going beyond places where permission has been given for protest. Legal action will be taken against anyone challenging this.”
“Any person, be it a man or a woman, if they organize a protest or do something illegal or enter the restricted area, action will be taken against them… if they want to put forward their points peacefully, we will try to connect them,” he told reporters, according to Ani news agency.

The protesting students were demanding that the total number of vacancies and the exam date for the post of constables in the Bihar Police be announced as early as possible, according to PTI.
PM Modi to visit Bihar’s Purnea district on September 15 to launch development projects ₹36,000 crore, including inauguration of a new airport terminal. He is also expected to address a public gathering.
