Aaron Rodgers enters the 2022 season as the NFL’s two-time reigning MVP and in a recent podcast interview, he credited a groovy experience with a psychedelic that helped his mindset.
Rodgers appeared on the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast” and revealed that he consumed ayahuasca on a trip to South America before winning the MVP award in 2020 and 2021. Ayahuasca is described as a drink herbal medicine used by Amazon countries that produces a psychoactive effect.
The Green Bay Packers star said he believes his experience with ayahuasca and winning the MVPs are linked.

“I don’t think it’s a coincidence,” Rodgers said. “I really don’t believe. I don’t really believe in coincidences at this point. It’s the universe that makes things happen when they’re supposed to happen.”
“There are signs and synchronicities all around us at all times if we’re awake enough to see them and take them in and listen to our intuition when it’s talking to us or pounding on our heads and saying, ‘Hey silly, c ‘is what you’re supposed to do.'”
In 2020, Rodgers led the NFL in touchdown passes for the second time in his career with 48, he also had 4,299 passing yards that year as well. Last season he had 37 touchdown passes for 4,115 yards. In those two seasons, he threw just nine interceptions.

Rodgers talked more about his journey with ayahuasca, even at one point he got emotional. He said he needed to find the strength to “truly love himself unconditionally.”
He added that the experience had helped his mental health immensely.
“For me, one of the fundamentals of your mental health is that self-love. That’s what ayahuasca has done for me, it’s helped me see how to love myself unconditionally. It’s only in that unconditional self-love, that then I am able to truly be able to love others unconditionally. And what better way to work on my mental health than to have an experience like this?” he said.
“The greatest gift I can give to my teammates, in my opinion, is being able to show up and be someone who can show them unconditional love. I mean obviously it’s important that I play well. , that I show up and that I lead and all that stuff, but they won’t care what you say until they know how much you care.
Rodgers and the Packers are determined to get back to the Super Bowl. Green Bay has been on the cusp the past two out of three years, but has failed to break through.
