A seriously injured pedestrian in Saint-André-Avellin, in the Outaouais

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday evening in Saint-André-Avellin, in the Outaouais.
The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on rang Sainte-Julie Ouest.
According to initial information, « the pedestrian was walking on the edge of the white line which runs along the row, in the opposite direction, when the vehicle hit him, » said agent Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec ( SQ).
The victim was transported to a hospital where there are fears for his life.
An investigation has been opened to shed light on this event. « At first glance there does not seem to be a criminal element, » said the SQ.
