A man seriously injured after a motorbike slammed into a fence on Sunday night

Toronto police say a man was seriously injured after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a fence on Sunday night.

Officers were called to a commercial industrial estate, Disco Road and Atwell Drive, around 8.30pm after the collision, which also saw the man thrown from the motorbike.

Police say the man, believed to be in his 40s, has serious head injuries.

The motorcyclist has since been rushed to a trauma center.

There is no word on what caused the crash at this time.

Police said road closures were in effect.
