A man died in an early morning shooting in downtown Toronto

A man has died following an early morning shooting in downtown Toronto.

Police were called to Queen Street near the city’s Chinatown district just before 1 a.m. to reports of multiple gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found an injured man on the ground.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toronto Police Homicide Squad took control of the case.
