The latter was drafted in the fifth round (154th overall) by the Carolina Panthers in the 2019 NFL Draft. The 26-year-old went on to play nine games in Carolina, before becoming a member of the Detroit Lions practice squad in 2020 and playing with the Miami Dolphins in 2021.

“We are happy that a player of Jordan’s caliber is coming to Montreal. He is very talented and explosive. His addition will bring depth to our already well-stocked backfield,” Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia said in a statement.

Scarlett had 1,857 yards on 344 carries in 35 college games with the University of Florida Gators, in addition to scoring 12 majors, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Floridian added 108 yards on 15 receptions.
