A cyclist hit by a car is seriously injured

A man in his fifties was seriously injured in the early evening when his electric bicycle collided with a car at the intersection of boulevard Hamel and chemin du Lac in Quebec City.

Quebec City Police Department spokeswoman Sarah Martel said the cyclist was thrown over the car by the force of the impact.

“He suffered significant injuries: leg pain and head trauma. But, we do not fear for his life, ”she confirms.

The emergency services went to the scene of the accident following a call received at 6:55 p.m.

As soon as the police arrived, a security perimeter was erected, raising fears of the worst.

The accident caused a traffic obstruction in the area, but everything returned to normal around 8 p.m.
