A car caught fire at Hudson Yards in Manhattan

A car burst into flames at Hudson Yards on Thursday, sending plumes of smoke into the air across Midtown and shocking onlookers.

The vehicle parked on West 33rd Street caught fire just before 11 a.m., with shocking videos and photos on social media showing it completely engulfed in flames, as first responders stood nearby.

« [I] was in the middle of an office video conference when we heard a loud boom,” said a Twitter user going by the handle JarekFA – who posted a photo of the burning car with thick black smoke billowing from it – told the Post in a message.

“I looked outside and it was completely engulfed in flames. It blazed for about a good 5 minutes,” he said. “There was a second boom so we were concerned that a another car explodes. »

No one was injured in the fire, the FDNY said. It is not known what caused the fire.

The NYPD had no information about the fire.
