a building under construction destroyed by flames

A major fire destroyed a building under construction last night in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough, at the corner of rue Saint-Dominique and rue Napoléon.
The blaze broke out around 12:30 p.m. and required the mobilization of 110 firefighters and around fifty vehicles.
“A large security perimeter was established during the night to allow firefighters to control the fire,” explains Julien Lévesque, media relations officer at the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The Montreal Police Department was on the scene to ensure traffic control.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident and an investigation has been opened to determine the causes.
