A 75-year-old man died in a fire in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

MONTREAL — A 75-year-old man died Monday night when a fire broke out in a residence in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on the west island of Montreal.
Emergency services were called around 5:20 p.m. to the scene of a fire that broke out on rue de Paris, near rue de Sevilla.
At the scene, firefighters had to assist a seriously injured man. The latter was then taken care of by paramedics, but he was unconscious when transported by ambulance to a hospital center.
At the end of the evening, the Montreal Police Department, which had been called to the scene to manage traffic, confirmed that the septuagenarian succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Investigators therefore went to the scene of the fire in order to clarify the causes and circumstances, which remained unknown at the time of publication.
