MONTREAL — A 21-year-old man was arrested in Quebec City on Sunday for attempted murder after attacking his father with a knife.
SPVQ police officers went to chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois, near rue Bégon, after receiving several calls around 8:30 a.m. concerning an assault in progress.
On the spot, they proceeded to the arrest of the suspect, who was transported to a hospital center under police surveillance.
The victim, a 60-year-old man, presented « significant bleeding », according to a press release from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ), and was transported to a hospital center in a so-called « unstable » condition.
He was declared out of danger after being taken care of by the medical team.
Investigators and technicians from the Forensic Identification Unit will go on site to examine the reasons that led to this attack.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to appear at a later date.
