When Becky Quick announced the CNBC Cures initiative, our effort to raise awareness about rare diseases and improve the lives of the 30 million people living with them, we knew the response would be great. We didn’t know it would be so big. The response was astonishing, overwhelming and humbling.

Thank you for your interest and overwhelming support for what we do. The CNBC Cures mission is personal to me. Not only because I’ve spent the last few months helping launch this platform, but because Becky’s story is mine too. Becky is my sister. Kaylie is my niece and goddaughter. The fact that people care means a lot to both of us.

We’ve received hundreds of messages from groups asking how they can help support Cures, and we’ve heard from many companies interested in sharing their rare disease efforts. But more importantly, we heard your opinion. Our inboxes have been flooded with emails from viewers and readers wanting to share their stories… from people wanting to tell us how their lives have been affected by rare diseases. Just a few days after the Cures announcement, thousands of people have already signed up for the newsletter. We’ve also heard from people who simply want to help us raise awareness about rare diseases, asking where they can send donations or give their time and support to this effort.

We appreciate all of this. We are extremely grateful for your interest in CNBC Cures. If you would like to share your story or discuss opportunities on how you can get involved with CNBC Cures, email us at cnbc.cures@cnbc.com.

Continue to support us. This is proof that people care about rare diseases and that there is an audience for this kind of content. We read your messages, respond to them when we can, and use them as inspiration for our stories.

Please tell your friends and family about CNBC Cures. Help us amplify our coverage around rare diseases. Let’s show the world that these issues are important.
