After confirming her hunch with a pregnancy test, Perrie and Alex couldn’t have been happier to expand their family. But after she and her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock And Jade Thirlwall hit the road in April 2022, the X factor the elder started to feel like something was wrong.
“Every night before a show, I would bleed,” she recalls. “I remember sitting down and thinking, ‘That’s it, I’ve lost the baby.'”
Although doctors continued to reassure Perrie that her baby was fine, the situation changed when she went in for a check-up at 20 weeks.
“It was just the worst day of my life, horrible,” recalls Perrie – who had also suffered a miscarriage before her pregnancy with Axel. “I just knew something was wrong in the scan.”
“I was just traumatized,” she continued, noting that she couldn’t even drive home after her appointment because she was crying so much. “I think when you’re fully bearing fruit and you’re 24 weeks and you’ve got their room planned and all those things, it’s really hard.”
