DETROIT – First pitch of Game 5 of the ALDS between the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners is officially set.
With the New York Yankees having been eliminated Wednesday night by the Toronto Blue Jays, the Tigers and Mariners will move to the 8:08 p.m. slot on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Since there is only one series left on the schedule on Friday, there will be no game at 4:40 p.m. This propelled the Tigers and Mariners into prime time.
Detroit forced a fifth game with a comeback victory Wednesday night. After falling behind 3-0, the offense finally came alive, scoring nine unanswered points to keep the season alive.
Tarik Skubal will take the ball for the Tigers and the Mariners will counter with George Kirby. Both pitchers had good first starts in this series – Skubal in Game 2 and Kirby in Game 1. They were content to not make any decisions and both of their teams ended up losing.
The winner will face No. 1 seed Toronto in the best-of-seven ALCS.
