He emailed the HR director to ask if they would “consider relaxing its ‘women only’ hiring policy for cabin crew”, adding that he had experience as a flight attendant for different airlines.

The director responded, “I don’t think they’ll let you…” and never responded again. The man was fired in April 2023.

Key Lime admitted that she has never hired a man as a flight attendant. Between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024, it employed 45 flight attendants, all women.

Key Lime said in a statement to the Minnesota Star Tribune that he “reached an amicable resolution with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.”

“While the company denies any wrongdoing, we acknowledge the department’s findings. Key Lime Air remains committed to maintaining a fair, inclusive and respectful workplace and will continue to comply with the Minnesota Human Rights Act and related obligations.”
