Police arrested the man for causing the ruckus, officials said, news agency PTI reported.
The man was immediately escorted from the premises by security personnel on site.
“A person, namely Praveen Sharma, who owns a television cable business in Ajeet Nagar and claims to be a BJP worker for 40 years, today raised slogans against Gandhi Nagar constituency MP Arvinder Singh Lovely while the MP was addressing the audience at the event where the CM was also present,” DCP Shahdara said in a press release, according to the ANI news agency.
“Praveen Sharma was behind the barricades on a street where he was immediately apprehended and removed. No VIP security was breached at any time,” he added.
The incident took place two days after Gupta was allegedly slapped and assaulted by a man during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ program at her residence on Wednesday, August 20.
ANI also reported that two different people were arrested by the police for trying to create ruckus.
