Dancing with the Stars Week 4: Who Came Home

After the rather awkward tribute to TikTok last week, Dancing with the stars returned to familiar territory on Tuesday with its popular Disney Night. After a Mandy Moore-choreographed introduction to “Be My Guest,” the duos opened their rehearsals with cheesy Disneyland stand-ups to help celebrate the park’s 70th anniversary in Anaheim.

But if you really want to talk about the happiest place on Earth right now, it has to be the DWTS ballroom. The ABC show once again shattered voting records last week, much to the despair of poor Lauren Jauregui who unexpectedly took over. Most viewers thought it was Andy Richter’s time to go, but the Fifth Harmony crooner went home.

Is it Richter’s turn this evening?

Comedian Andy Richter with his partner Emma Slater. Richter was the cook at Slater’s Rat for their banal Viennese waltz to the tune of Ratatouille. It was far from a boss kiss but Richter is downright adorable when he admits his mediocrity. “Andy, you produce such memorable moments,” Carrie Ann Inaba said. “We’re on week 4 though…we’re going to be looking for more content. I want you to challenge yourself more.” SCORE: 18 out of 30

Danielle Fishel (A boy meets the world) with Pasha Pashkov. Fishel vowed to do everything this week with her Jungle Book on the theme “I want to be like you”, but she was still criticized by Bruno Tonioli for failing to keep the rhythm. “Once you got into the quickstep, it was very, very good, but you weren’t in the right timing, darling,” he said. SCORE: 21 of 30

Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying with Rylee Arnold. Hoying feels like he’s finally “come out of his shell,” but his slightly better-than-average salsa didn’t quite have the same wow factor as last week’s jazz show. Worse still, he had to do it for “Bop to the Top” from High school musicalwho is about as Cuban as the white-bread characters who played him in the 2006 TV movie. The judges gave him a break, however. “That’s what happens when trust builds,” Inaba said. “You are dazzled with this salsa.” SCORE: 21 of 30

ANDY RICHTER, EMMA SLATER (Disneyland Resort, Sean Teegarden)

Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin with Witney Carson. Irwin has a funny habit of slurring words or chewing air when he dances, but that’s only a small footnote to his otherwise splendid cha cha at the much too slow “Try everything” Zootopia. “You just have that Irwin aura,” Derek Hough said. “You can’t help but smile watching you play. Your upper half is so strong.” SCORE: 22 of 30

Author and influencer Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko. Baldwin’s quick step to the cantina song Star Wars was out of this world! Hough argued that his “quickstep” required more quickstep, but his fellow judges disagreed. Me too. “Princess Leia, the force is always with you,” Tonioli said, referring to her Carrie Fisher-inspired costume. “Everything you did worked. In fact, I watched what you did tonight very, very closely, really analyzing it. I was looking for something wrong. I didn’t see it.” SCORE: 23 of 30

Jen Affleck (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Jan Ravnik. The Mormon mom closed the show with an acrobat-filled jazz routine set to a song by Aladdin which truly embodied the Disney theme. And Ravnik is a wonderful genius! Oddly, Inaba wasn’t blown away. “You’re living the Disney dream right now. Great performance,” she said. “But something about it didn’t put me over it. Boo me! I think you need to make things a little harder as we go forward.” SCORE: 23 of 30

Reality TV star Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach. Efron’s quick step towards the Cars The song “Life is a Highway” kept him in the good graces of the judges, who clearly appreciated his beauty and growth from week to week. “Dylan McQueen, the king of quickstep! » said Hough. “So impressed with that left arm, you kept that strength throughout.” SCORE: 23 of 30

Social media personality Alix Earle with Val Chmerkovskiy. Bravo to Chmerkovskiy who proposed a new vision of Cinderella classic “One Upon a Dream” by having Earle dress as Maleficent for their dark and evocative Viennese Waltz. “Alix, that was fascinating,” Hough said. “It was magical, it was mesmerizing…I disagree with Carrie Ann last week. This was your best dance. SCORE: 24 of 30

Actor Elaine Hendrix with Alan Bersten. Poor Bersten had his work cut out for him this week, having to choreograph a killer quickstep to the theme song of…. space mountain?! But Bersten and the stage managers (who brought out bitch lasers) gave Hendrix the ride of a lifetime. “It was a complicated routine,” Hough said. “You didn’t miss a beat.” SCORE: 24 of 30

Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles with Ezra Sosa. The quick step of the gymnast to a catchy tune of The Princess and the Frog The judges raved about her natural ballroom abilities. “This kind of dancing is why people love Disney parties. You brought it to life. When you dance, it’s fun, it’s lively but it’s also authentic.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

MARK BALLAS, WHITNEY LEAVITT (Disney/Christopher Willard)

Whitney Leavitt (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Mark Ballas. Look who just became the favorite! The duo’s foxtrot to “Room Where it Happens” Hamilton was an absolute stunner and deserved to close the show (sorry, Affleck). “There’s the traditional foxtrot, and then there’s Mark’s foxtrot,” Inaba said. “As I watched, my lips were quivering. It was so good. The precision, the technicality, the painting of that image was incredible. Insane.” SCORE: 25 out of 30

Host Alfonso Ribeiro began the eliminations by announcing that the show had just surpassed 40 million votes. Youhouza!

The final three were Richter, Baldwin and Fishel. In another shocking elimination, Baldwin was sent home. The influencer, however, appreciated her departure. No words on feeling upset about this one!

“It’s been an incredible experience,” she said. “I’m so grateful to you. And I’m grateful to my kids and my family! Thank you guys for this. I’m cheering for everyone in the cast because it’s been an incredible time.”
