The demonstrations demanding the reserve for the Maratha community entered the fourth day on Monday, September 1, led by activist Manoj Jarange Patil in Mumbai, Maratha quota requests have aroused politics in the Maharashtra.

Jarange promised to abandon water if his requests were not satisfied by the government. It was given an extension for a day to protest against Azad Maidan by Mumbai police.

Jarange began his indefinite hunger strike on August 29. He requests a 10% quote for the Maratha community in the category of other class categories (OBC).

Order of Bombay HC

In a great respite for Mumbaikars, the High Court of Bombay, on September 1, ordered to expel demonstrators in all places except Azad Maian. The court will continue to hear the case tomorrow and the measures taken by the state government.

The court agreed to have a special hearing session on a plea deposited against the current demonstrations. The petition was deposited by the Amy Foundation against the demonstrations of Jarange.
