In his first reaction to the alleged abuse inflicted on his mother during the “Voting Adhikar Yatra” to the Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Tuesday September 2 that he was “deeply struggled” by the incident, but affirmed that if he could forgive the RJD and the Congress, “the people of Bihar will never forgive them”.

Taking the opposition parties about the recent incident of Darbhanga, he said that using swear on his mother was nothing for those who insult “Mother India” and that they should be punished.

“My deceased mother had nothing to do with politics, so what was her fault; why was she mistreated?” He questioned.

“I can forgive them, but the inhabitants of the Bihar will never forgive them for having insulted my mother. State officials must say that they will punish the leaders of these parties in the coming days,” he said.

“The inhabitants of Bihar must demand answers from the leaders of the RJD and the Congress … in each street and in each district, only one voice must be heard: ‘We will not tolerate an insult to a mother, we will not tolerate the tyranny of the RJD and the attacks of the congress’,” he said.

The Prime Minister addressed a rally in Delhi while virtually inaugurating a new cooperative for women associated with Bihar support groups.

“The Bihar is Maa Janki’s country … He has always respected women. It is the country where Chhath Puja is celebrated. My mother has been mistreated since the platform of the RJD and Congress … I had never imagined that such a thing would happen … It was an insult to mothers and girls of Bihar … State people will never forgive them,” said Modi.

“I am my mother’s son … I share my pain with you,” he said.

“I worked tirelessly for the well-being of the country’s women … The mother who gave me birth asked me to serve the homeland, which I do. She never brought sari for her and saved money for us. I must say that the position of a mother is more than that of God,” said the Prime Minister.

Modi said that those who insult mothers and sisters consider women to be weak.

“Their state of mind leads them to deal with women as objects of exploitation and oppression. Whenever people with anti-fires came to power, mothers, girls and sisters were to endure the most suffering … This occurred during the RJD raaj of the RJD,” he said.

“During the era of the RJD, crime was endemic to Bihar, and the state was witness every day of murder, extortion and rape. The government of the RJD granted protection to the murderers and the rapists. Women had to pay the price … They are therefore they who ousted the RJD of power and now the regional party wants to take revenge for that,” said the Prime Minister.

The congress has never been able to tolerate that a person from the backward community has access to a position of power, and that is why it triggers a series of abuses, said Modi.

Bihar legislative elections are later scheduled for this year.
