The Minister of the Union, Nitin Gadkari, alleged that there was a “paid campaign” against him concerning the deployment of fuel E20, calling him “remunerated political campaign” which was “proven false”.

His remarks come after the Supreme Court rejected the petitions contesting the E20 implementation program.

“All test agencies have confirmed that there is no problem for implementation,” said Gadkari, highlighting government efforts to promote cleaner fuels.

He made the comments while addressing the 65th SIAM annual agreement on Thursday, September 11.

Gadkari has urged the industry to intensify efforts to launch biofuels to reduce pollution and reiterate its call for discounts for people who have put on their old cars.

He added that the government plans to propose a program to use fuel and own biofuels in construction equipment.

He also thanked the automotive industry for the successful transition of BSIV to BSVI standards and reaffirmed that global alignment would be maintained in the deployment of BSVI and CAFE standards.

For the future, he has planned that logistical costs in India would fall at 9% by the end of 2025.
