A transgender school bus driver in Charlotte, North Carolina, is accused of having sexually assaulted several boys aged 14 and 15.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday and identified as Leetwain Darrell Tate, 48, nicknamed “Ms. Sharon”. New York post reported on Sunday.

Authorities said he was accused of having attacked at least four teenagers. Tate was charged with two rape chiefs and six charges of indecent freedoms with a minor.

The man is accused of having attracted the boys to his home where they stayed with him. One of the victims said that the suspect had offered him money in exchange for sex.

“Tate was employed as a school bus driver for the Sugar Creek Charter School in Charlotte. He was initially suspended while the investigation was underway and was officially closed on September 30, according to the WCCB. The authorities stressed that none of the alleged crimes occurred on the school’s property or during the Tate bus routes”, according to a KTSA report.

The judicial archives indicate that the man is held thanks to a guaranteed deposit of a million dollars, the WCBD reported. The media also said that the police had been called in the Peachtree Road and Corvis Road sector in early September when a parent learned that his child would have been sexually assaulted.

“The detectives said that interviews with several victims and evidence collected from electronic devices supported allegations,” said the police, the police think there could be more victims in this case.

“Anyone with information is requested to contact the detective King at 704-336-7495 or to submit anonymous information to Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. This case must be referred to court later this month,” said the media.
